The Google Ad Grant program provides eligible nonprofits with up to $10,000 per month in search advertising credits. Qualifying charities can use these funds on Google to promote their mission, recruit volunteers, and attract donations. 

How the Grant Works

  • Monthly Budget: Nonprofits receive roughly $10,000 in ad spend per month, which breaks down to about $329 per day.

  • Text Ads Only: The credit can only be used for Google Search text ads. It does not cover display ads, video ads on YouTube, or shopping ads. 

  • Targeting: Ads appear at the top or bottom of Google search result pages when users search for keywords relevant to the nonprofit’s cause.

Eligibility

To qualify, organizations must pass Google's verification process. In the United States, organizations must hold current, valid 501(c)(3) charity status.

Rules & Compliance

To keep the grant active, organizations must adhere to several Google guidelines, including:

  • Maintaining a minimum 5% Click-Through Rate (CTR) on their ads.

  • Having properly set-up conversion tracking.

  • Using specific, targeted keywords instead of overly generic, single-word terms.
